Content License Agreement

Your memory remains yours. This agreement explains the limited rights you grant to The Human Mosaic so your contribution can become part of the permanent global artwork.

1. Ownership of Your Content

You retain ownership of the image, artwork, photograph, or other content you submit to The Human Mosaic.

The Human Mosaic does not acquire your copyright and does not claim authorship of your contribution.

By submitting content, you confirm that you own it or have all rights, permissions, licenses, and authorizations required to submit and display it.

2. License Granted to The Human Mosaic

By submitting content, you grant The Human Mosaic a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable only where necessary to operate the project, and perpetual license to:

  • Display your approved contribution within the project
  • Reproduce and technically process the content for hosting, resizing, optimization, moderation, backup, and display
  • Present it on the official website, gallery, and immersive museum
  • Include it in future digital or physical exhibitions connected to The Human Mosaic
  • Use it in project-related communications, archival materials, press features, and promotional presentations
  • Preserve it as part of the historical and artistic archive of the project

This license exists only so The Human Mosaic can operate, preserve, communicate, and exhibit the collective artwork.

3. What The Human Mosaic Does Not Claim

The Human Mosaic does not claim ownership of your copyright.

The Human Mosaic does not claim to be the author or creator of your submitted image.

The Human Mosaic will not sell or transfer ownership of your photograph or artwork to another party.

Any third-party service provider involved in hosting, storage, delivery, moderation, or technical operation may process the content only as necessary to support the project.

4. Identifiable Individuals

If your submission includes identifiable individuals, you confirm that you have obtained all permissions and consents required to submit, publicly display, and use the image within The Human Mosaic.

You remain responsible for respecting privacy, publicity, personality, image, and other applicable rights of the people depicted.

5. Content Including Minors

If your submission includes a minor, you confirm that you have obtained valid authorization from the minor’s parent or legal guardian.

The Human Mosaic may request evidence of such authorization if a concern, complaint, or legal claim arises.

6. Participant Responsibility

You accept responsibility for the legality, accuracy, ownership, permissions, and appropriateness of the content you submit.

You agree not to submit content that infringes copyright, privacy, personality, trademark, contractual, or other third-party rights.

You are responsible for claims, disputes, or legal consequences resulting from content submitted without the necessary rights or permissions.

7. Moderation and Removal

Every submission may be reviewed before being displayed.

The Human Mosaic may reject, hide, restrict, or remove content that:

  • Violates the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
  • Violates applicable law
  • Infringes third-party rights
  • Creates a credible privacy or safety concern
  • Is fraudulent, misleading, harmful, or abusive
  • Could damage the integrity or mission of the project

Removal from public display does not necessarily require the immediate deletion of all technical backups, legal records, or moderation evidence.

8. Requests Concerning Your Content

You may contact The Human Mosaic to request correction, restriction, or removal of your contribution.

Requests will be assessed in accordance with applicable law, project integrity, contractual obligations, archival interests, public display status, and any valid legal grounds for retention.

Requests may be sent to: info@thehumanmosaic.art

9. Certificates and Participation Records

Certificates, Museum IDs, submission identifiers, slot details, and participation records may be retained as evidence of the participant’s contribution to The Human Mosaic.

A certificate confirms participation in the project but does not transfer copyright, ownership, or exclusive rights in the submitted content.

10. Respect for Every Memory

Every approved contribution represents a real person, story, culture, relationship, or creative expression.

The Human Mosaic is committed to treating each memory with care, dignity, and respect as part of a permanent global artwork.

11. Changes to This Agreement

This Content License Agreement may be updated as the project evolves, introduces new exhibitions or technologies, or responds to legal and operational requirements.

The latest version published on the official website will apply to future submissions. Material changes affecting existing contributions will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
